I stayed at this hotel for over three (3) weeks in 2022 and was deeply disappointed. I paid extra for a larger room, which was dated, dirty, and not well maintained (see photos). Noise carried through the flimsy walls easily. Finally, I had contacted the hotel regarding a promotion, and it took them a month and multiple reminder emails to even respond to me. Despite their incredibly poor responsiveness, the hotel manager still refused to honor a Marriott promotion that clearly listed their hotel as a participant online. I had made the reservation specifically because of this promotion, and was left unable to change my stay because the hotel did not reply to me for so long. I was deeply disappointed overall by the cleanliness, quality, and service of this hotel. The hotel staff were often absent, and the immediate area also seems unsafe. Despite paying for a bigger room and despite staying for over three (3) weeks, the service and overall experience were abysmal.

Despite what this hotel may look like on the outside, the customer service, proximity to a metro stop, and size of the rooms more than makes up for it. From the moment we arrived Paul Drake did everything he could to make our stay an enjoyable experience. Even with the hectic inaugural weekend he handled everything with the most calming demeanor I have ever witnessed from a hotel employee. In recent years, my hotel stays have left me feeling as though my status as a Titanium Elite member was close to meaningless. Mr. Drake has restored my confidence in Marriott to provide exceptional service to the brands most loyal customers and I will absolutely be making the Residence Inn at Foggy Bottom my go-to spot when I stay in DC.

Was here for business and let me just say- I was pleasantly surprised. The complimentary breakfast was soooo delicious.They have a plethora of different breakfast food to choose from. Ruben and the nice lady in the kitchen were so nice and kept it clean. I met the buildings engineer in the elevator (Kelvin) and he was so polite and gave me some recommendations on some restaurants near by. This place is an unexpected gem.

We spent 7 nights and were happy with our decision to stay here. The one bedroom suite was large and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small but had good water pressure in the shower. AC worked great and was quiet. It was handy to have a kitchen with a full sized fridge. Unfortunately the ice maker in our fridge did not work.

Breakfast was good with a nice variety. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, chicken Alfredo, and sausage gravy with biscuits on various mornings. Friendly staff in the breakfast room.

The location was perfect being just 2 blocks from the Metro in a quiet residential area. A Whole Foods was about 3 blocks away and Trader Joe’s was about a 10 minute walk.

The iced fruit favored water in the lobby was welcome when returning from long days of sightseeing. There was no noise from neighboring rooms but people walking to/from the elevator could be heard talking when we were in the living room. The first 2 nights of our stay there was a faint smell of weed on the 8th floor.

We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after we checked out for about 5 hours before we needed to leave for the airport.

Overall we enjoyed staying here and would stay again should we return to Washington DC.

We had an excellent stay at this well located hotel just two blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop. We arrived at 10am and were able to get into our room which was great. At the end of our stay they stored our bags for the whole day while we toured the town.||The staff at the front desk and those running the breakfast buffet were all very friendly and super helpful. Great job!||The room itself was typical of a RI which was very nice.||The breakfast buffet was a step up from the usual RI breakfasts with a bit more selection and real plates and silverware.||Given the great location it was a surprise that this was one of the cheaper Marriott properties in DC.

The room and location are superb. Room is large with comfy beddings. Housekeepers are friendly and helpful. The service level at the reception and breakfast were however a bit distant and cold.

Horrible customer service. They only care about making money and definitely not their customers. We booked a stay for our upcoming trip on 10/25/24. We used the Select Card membership App. After filling in our credit card info and agreeing to the stay on 10/25 we received an email stating our room for 10/3! was booked! This was on 10/1. We immediately contacted the hotel and asked to please correct the date to 10/25. They said NO. Unbelievable how uncaring. We did not want our money back just the correct date. Marriott now lost all of our families future business.
P.S. Don’t ever purchase the Select Card. Their App is terrible and the few discounts are definitely not worth the high price.

BS! You could have easily corrected the mistake and changed our reservation to the right date 10/25. We called you directly within 15 of the error. Don’t blame others. Take responsibility after all it’s YOUR HOTEL!
