I was privileged for yet again to spend 6 nights at Hotel Zena. From my arrival and check-in, I was treated to exquisite hospitality. The front desk manned by Ezekiel took concern to my room location, giving me one of the best room treatments I have had since I started staying at the hotel. The room was stunningly comfortable, clean and welcoming with the hotel feminist theme and celebration of the place of women in our lives being an enduring delight.

Being someone who values good sleep, the full blackout curtains and comfortable bed and fluffy pillows made my extended stay just exceptional. I also had my supplies meticulously replenished and the warmth of acknowledgement every time I stepped out and back. My shopping delivered straight to my room, without me having to follow up. The valet Geta and others were at hand all through managing my exit and luggage storage. My checkout was seamlessly managed by David.

You can be sure I will always be at Hotel Zena every time I am in Washington, DC.

Just a great hotel; I wanna live here! I loved the aesthetic and it was so clean. The room was stunning and comfy. The windows held a great view of the city; its location was central and easy to reach many tourist attractions. Just a great hotel that enhanced our stay in DC. PS the bathrooms are so fun!

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days this week and had a grand time! We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in! Ezekiel and the other staff were so kind and helpful.Even though the rooftop was closed due to the season, Ezekiel offered to let us go up for a tour. They also printed several documents I needed and delivered them to our room! There was a very attentive doorman too,,,,thank you!!! The aesthetic and ambiance throughout the lobby, bar and hallways was inspiring to say the least. You have to see it to appreciate all the interesting artwork! Our room was super clean and huge! The shower was the coolest I've ever seen! And that view,, WOW! I loved the large windows,,,it allowed us to appreciate the great view! The location was perfect! Close to everything,,, within walking distance. We literally parked the car the 1st night and never used it until we drove home. I did wish there was ice accessible to guests however. We had to call down to the front desk when we needed it. But that was minor. Thank you Ezekiel and staff for everything!!! We hope to return someday!!!

I loved staying at Hotel Zena! The vibe, décor, mission/values are amazing and I loved supporting it. Room was nicely decorated, bed and bathroom were very comfortable. The restaurant/bar was cute and tasty. It was a great location, close to the metro and walkable to everything in NW downtown. I will stay again!

UPDATED REVIEW AFTER STAYING AT HOTEL:

I stayed in room 1105 and overall, the staff were exceptionally accommodating. The check-in/-out process was seamless. I asked for slippers and someone brought them to my room within 20 minutes of request.

There were 2 beds in my room (I slept in different beds on each night of my 2-night stay). For reasons unbeknownst to me, I woke up with bug bites all over both my legs on the morning of my second night's stay.

Upon check-out, I called the Front Desk to provide this feedback in hopes that they would investigate the situation but I was placed on 10min+ holds twice.

All in all, I cannot in good faith recommend this hotel to anyone, which is very unfortunate, as I enjoyed the kind service of the front desk staff upon arrival and the close proximity to the D.C. metro area.

I booked this hotel for an upcoming business trip. Unfortunately, this hotel charges you a guest amenity fee of $30 + tax (~$34/night) and they notify you of this charge via email AFTER you confirm the reservation get charged for the booking. This means that with the unexpected charge, I had to cancel my reservation after finalizing all other travel plans, given that the additional fee would force me to surpass my per diem budget set by my workplace.

I tried calling the hotel and asked to speak with a manager to see if they would be willing to waive this $34/day fee as a one-time courtesy. After trying to reason with two -albeit, polite- staff who were of no help, I was told that "all managers are busy on other calls" and when I insisted that this would cause me to cancel my reservation, they responded, "okay, have a nice day."

While this hotel may be a nice establishment based on other reviews, given the hidden fee, lack of transparency and overall unhelpful follow-up by the staff, I would not recommend lodging at this location.

I love the aesthetic of this hotel, very femme and classy, not like a masculine businessman hotel. The pool rooftop was excellent with great city views. There were a few downsides though that are not great when you're trying to get in and out of DC so I don't know that I'd stay here for a business trip. First valet / parking was a mess the day that we got in, we waited about 20 minutes before someone approached to help. Then we only parked for one night but were charged for 4! And the front desk staff was a little sassy for my taste. Finally, I paid extra for the suite with the bath tub and the stopper wouldn't keep the water in. Kind of obnoxious to have a soaker tub that only fills half way. To end on a positive, the room service staff were very kind and the cleaning staff were absolute top notch and so sweet. My room was reset and cleaned thoroughly every day!

My company had our holiday party here in the lounge and we had a great time. The bartender Alexis was awesome in making the best drinks, customer service, and attention to detail! Can’t wait to go back.

I loved my stay here. The room was very clean. I loved all the different lights in the room. It had a cool LED strip that was different. I didn’t get to use the pool for long but it look well maintained and it was on the rooftop, which I thought was nice. You get a great of the city. Gym has good equipment that allowed me to get in a good workout, I also love the location too. You are in walking distance to the White House and a few museums. You also close to restaurants and a CVS. Staff were also friendly and helpful. I had a slight issues when I was ordered my breakfast in the morning but I understand it’s a busy hotel. The actual food was excellent. The eggs and French toast were some of the best hotel food I had. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend others do the same as well!
