I have some pros and cons about my stay. My girls and I stayed for the weekend and originally had a regular room then we were told by Dave we can upgrade to a suite. The size of the suite was perfect for 4 girls who need room to get ready. The location of the hotel was perfect ! It was close to everything we wanted to do.
Dave also recommended we buy a burger. It was really good but expensive ($40). There were no bad interactions with other guests or the staff members. Everyone was friendly that we met. The king bed was extremely comfortable.

My biggest issues: The room was hot. It was hard to regulate the temperature. We never received housekeeping service and we had asked one of the housekeepers to come in on Saturday. She said she would, but no one ever came. Our sheets were never changed. Trash wasn’t taken out. So that was disappointing. And lastly, there was no microwave in the room. My friends who slept on the sofa bed said it was very uncomfortable.

Would I stay again? I’m not sure.

Bruce at the front counter gave me a FREE room upgrade at check-in because I was « nice and smiley. » It was great customer service and much appreciated. I got a very spacious room on the 9th floor. The valet service team members were also very friendly and helpful. It was a close walking distance to the DuPont Metro which was a big plus. I got a free hat at checkout. All around a good trip and I will be returning!

This review would have been a 4 star review because the hotel is well located (about a 20-30 minute walk or 5 minute Uber to most attractions), the beds are comfortable, the space in the rooms is fairly large; there were a few issues with housekeeping not bringing up sufficient glasses, towels, coffee and the water in the shower was not overly powerful or hot (maintenance came by and fixed this). However, I made it a 5 star because the assistant manager Bruce Daley was amazing. He fixed all the minor issues that arose quickly and with a very good communication style. Please note that there is a $35 facility fee that is charged and you get access to a number of amenities for this fee - you need to be aware so that you avail fully of what you are paying for.

Excellent location! One of the best areas in DC. However, the rooms are falling apart. Particularly the bathroom. There was a significant water leak from the shower and and sink faucet which caused issues on the floor and trim. Their fix was to add more caulking. Everything still leaked. The TV remote was broken and I had someone come up to try to fix it and he said just don't use those buttons. Just shows they don't really care to fix problems (water leaks + remote are only two examples.) If your objective is to just sleep in the room and not spend much time there, then it's alright. Avoid the restaurant, it's extremely overpriced, even for DC. The front desk and door service was great. Super friendly people.

It is a good value and it is an attractive property. The staff is very nice and went out of the way to be helpful. Also it is in a great location. However, I am lying here on top of the sheets in the middle of a cool November night sweating. The thermostat basically turns the fan on and off and engineering has been to our room and has tried to get the heat to turn down. This is the second night I cannot sleep. I am not sure if the entire hotel is one temperature or if my thermostat is broken. The windows cannot be opened. If there was a way to cool the room I would love the place. By the way it is at 74 and I keep the room heater when traveling at 68-70. This might be right for you but not me.

We had a fantastic stay at the Royal Sonesta DuPont Circle! The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, and our room was both spacious and comfortable. Thank you all for the excellent service. Hotel is located in a great location, tons of options. Metro is only a few min walking distance. We can't wait to return!

Royal Sonesta DuPont Cir is a great hotel.
Amazing large room, comfortable bed and all the staff I encountered were very welcoming and friendly. I appreciate the security swipe feature for the elevators and front doors later in the evenings. The only minor issue I encountered was the features of the television wouldn't allow me to stream or access hotel services. Hotel bar was definitely a notch above standard hotel bar with great service, drinks and a decent selection of food.

Stayed here on a business trip. Hotel is beautiful and in a good location. Walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Restaurant was good, great service. Sam was very sweet and attentive. Rooms need a good deep clean and some upgrades. Sheets were stained upon arrival, but housekeeping was prompt to fix the issue. Room still had a musty smell, possibly from the carpet. Lots of dust that I personally cleaned up. Shower curtain and sitting chair were also stained, but I just worked around it. Water in the shower was boiling hot with no fix. Would stay here again in a crunch, maybe with a room upgrade.
