Our stay was short, but needed as we made our way from Maine to Georgia. We travel over 100 nights a year and always appreciate Marriott Hotels taking care of us and this stay was no different. We got in late and we stayed in a quiet room up high and on the end of a hall. Our bed was firm and we were able to sleep and wake rested. This room was clean with all the expected Residence Inn amenities like a full kitchen and plenty of space for us to work. |Best of the staff was kind and attentive. Not just the desk staff, but every person we encountered saw our needs before we could even ask. We look forward to staying here again.

I stayed here with my family the week of Thanksgiving since we were visiting other family members who live in Delaware and we also wanted to check out long wood gardens. The stay was absolutely amazing! Clean room, good free breakfast and great hospitality from David at the front desk! The only hiccup we had was the hot water issue, but that was addressed by the General Manager Stefanie Negron and she even gave points as an inconvenience which we definitely appreciated!! Thank you Stefanie and David for making our stay warm and memorable!

Hello just wanted to say I had an incredible experience staying here. David is Front Desk HOST HE was AWESOME ... I appreciate how I came miles away for a funeral and he helped me with everything I needed to make my stay great!! Also you have a kitchen attendant named Keisha she was awesome as well I really appreciated this cause I was all over the place dealing with a death in family. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

This hotel, Residence Inn, downtown Wilmington should be the prototype for how all other hotels should operate and how they can easily provide unparalleled customer service. I work in the hotel industry so I travel a lot and frequently stay in different hotels and this was by far my best hotel experience. From management , to maintenance, to housekeeping, the service was impeccable. This hotel was extremely clean, safe and secure, in a perfectly convenient location. The most important thing for me was how peaceful and stress free yet friendly and accommodating my entire experience was from the moment I stepped inside the lobby thru out the additional days I added on to my original 1 night reservation. I am really glad I chose this hotel and you will absolutely feel the same.

The place was like hell screaming crying and running over my head, the staff was rude to me and insulting. Having to replace the room keys every time I went out. The limited amount of food allowed available for breakfast. The place I do not recommend. Horrible service. Dirty rooms and dirty showers. They don’t care about customers. Low standards of service.

Located to 1st room(202) for a 3 night stay and settled in only to find a bed bug on the bed, and I got bitten. Informed the hotel, and they relocated us into another room(506). No one had reached out after the relocation. While we couldn't find visual evidence of bed bugs in our new room, I had managed to receive even more bed bug bites. We informed the facility again as we checked out. However, no compensation was provided.

UPDATE: Resolved! The manager (Stephanie) reached out after reading my review. She reported that a miscommunication had occurred, and that she was unaware that I was one of the guests impacted. After a couple emails, she was able to extend Bonvoy points to me for the inconvenience. This was satisfactory because the room itself was updated & comfortable. If in the area again, I would definitely take another chance on this specific Residence Inn location. (Bonus: I was impressed with the woman tending to the breakfast area because she seemed to take it upon herself to care for an elderly gentleman who definitely benefitted from the extra TLC.)

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I stayed in room 405 for 4 nights while visiting family for Thanksgiving. For *THREE DAYS* there was ABSOLUTELY NO HOT WATER. Other guests and I chatted in the breakfast area that we were boiling water in a pot on the stove to wash up in the kitchen sink. ? Our questions and concerns were met with apathy and zero urgency. The last day, the front desk person took my email & Marriott Member #, and told me I'd be compensated for the trouble with Marriott points. It's now Dec 8th, and they never added the points or even contacted me. Not being able to shower each time I tried on 3 different days is a whole other level of a hospitality failure. How is it that a Marriott brand couldn't hire an appropriate company to complete an emergency job?! They kept telling us they were waiting for a part. Seriously?! I've had to hire a plumber for emergency service. No one wants to pay that premium, or to overnight a part, but this is literally their business. A Marriott without hot water (or answers) for three days?! I'm still in awe of their lack of concern or follow-up.
